Position Overview:
Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. is looking for a qualified Software QA Analyst to join the Software QA team in our main office located in Calgary, AB. The Software QA Analyst works on testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of Circle’s software products. The QA Analyst participates in all levels of project testing including usability, integration, system performance and user acceptance. This position reports to Director of Quality Assurance.
General Responsibilities:
- Identify and report root cause of defects and issues found during testing create, modify, execute test cases to verify published business requirements and functional specifications
- Establish and maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all work\
- Work closely with software developers and managers to understand user scenarios, requirements, and typical usage workflows, technical issues, impact, and risk areas
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance testing on multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) maintain test environments and hardware
- Troubleshoot issues found during testing and assist in problem analysis
- Develop new automation test scripts or software tools to assist in all stages of the product life cycle
- Other general software testing activities when required
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of software testing experience
- Experience testing software installation/deployment packages on Mac and Windows
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of Mac, Windows and Windows Server operating systems
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment across multiple geographic locations and cultures
Beneficial Skills/Experience:
- Experience testing/evaluating software against various hardware components (hard drive types, GPU/video cards, memory configurations, etc.)
- Experience with testing/evaluating server-client applications in various network
environments - Working knowledge of the validation process in a regulated environment
- Keen interest in biological sciences/medical/healthcare applications is a plus
- Spatial reasoning skills, ability to visualize 3D objects from 2D images
- Experience with Froglogic Squish, or similar test automation tools
- Working experience with Javascript, Python or Ruby
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum technical diploma in computing science or related field
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field is preferred
